Investigating Native Irish Tree Species at the Front of our School

The Green Schools Committee counted the trees around the green area at the front of our school.
There are around 90 to 100 trees in our woodland area.

With the help of tree guides from The National Tree Council we looked for native Irish tree species and believe we saw an Alder tree, an Aspen tree, an Oak tree, a Willow tree some Ash, Rowan, Blackthorn, Hawthorn, Holly and Birch trees.

We also left out more nuts and seeds for the birds in all the bird feeders around the school.
